In Thursday's non-league outing, the host Penobscot Valley Howlers soccer squad scored a tight 2-0 win over the Jonesport-Beals Royals.
The Howlers (8-2) will now prepare for their outing against Woodland (Baileyville, ME). The Dragons come into the non-league test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, Woodland edged Machias (Machias, ME), 9-0, in a league test.
The Royals now sport a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they host Machias for a Class D - South test on Tuesday, October 14. Jonesport-Beals will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-0 league loss to Woodland (Baileyville, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-11.
