Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) and the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), observed Belen's volleyball team top Highland by a count of 3-0.
The Eagles (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Grants (Grants, NM). The Pirates enter the 4A District 5 contest with a 8-10 record. In their last battle, Grants achieved victory over Highland (Albuquerque, NM), 3-1, in a league battle.
The Hornets now own a 0-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grants for a 4A District 5 battle on Tuesday, October 14. Highland will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Pirates record now stands at 7-10.
