Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM), observed Cibola's volleyball team top Piedra Vista by a count of 3-0.
The Cougars (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM). The Rams enter the 5A District 1 contest with a 8-7 record. In their last battle, Rio Rancho dropped by Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM), 3-0, in a league battle.
The Panthers now own a 7-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cleveland for a 5A District 1 battle on Tuesday, October 14. Piedra Vista will encounter a Storm squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Farmington (Farmington, NM). The Storm record now stands at 9-6.
