The McClatchy Lions topped the host Cordova Lancers volleyball squad by a final score of 3-1 in Thursday's league outing.

The Lions now have a 14-7 record. They play next when they host West Park for a Metropolitan Conference outing on Tuesday, October 14. McClatchy will play a Panthers team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 21-5.

With the loss, Cordova drops to 5-15 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Kennedy (Sacramento, CA) to confront the Cougars in a Metropolitan Conference game on Tuesday, October 14. The Cougars come into the outing with a record of 8-16. Kennedy won 3-1 in their recent league outing against Antelope (Antelope, CA)
