Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA) and the host George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA), observed Tunstall's volleyball team top George Washington by a count of 3-0.

The Trojans (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets enter the Piedmont contest with a 5-13 record. In their last contest, Halifax County was knocked off by Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA), 3-1, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the William Campbell Generals (Naruna, VA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, October 13. George Washington will attempt to improve on its 0-16 season record. The Generals go into the battle with a 2-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Gretna (Gretna, VA).
