St. Genevieve Valiants (Panorama City, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host St. Monica Mariners (Santa Monica, CA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Valiants (2-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA). The Stars come into the Camino Real challenge with a 11-18 record.

Next, the Mariners play the Oak Park Eagles (Oak Park, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 11. St. Monica will attempt to advance on its 10-18 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 16-7 record after their 3-2 league win over Royal (Simi Valley, CA).
