The McEvans Warriors basketball team scored 35 points and restricted the visiting Leland Cubs to 33 in the Warriors non-league victory on Thursday.
The Warriors now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coahoma County for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 15. McEvans will battle a Red Panthers team coming off a 69-35 non-league loss to Horn Lake (Horn Lake, MS). The Red Panthers record now stands at 0-1.
The Cubs (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Simmons (Hollandale, MS). The Blue Devils come into the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Simmons was nudged by Riverside (Avon, MS), 58-41, in a non-league contest.
