Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Heidelberg Oilers (Heidelberg, MS), 72-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Kemper County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Wildcats host Demopolis (Demopolis, AL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Demopolis lost 59-29 in their recent non-league bout against Paul W. Bryant (Cottondale, AL)

Next up, the Oilers play the South Jones Braves (Ellisville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 18. Heidelberg will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 54-29 non-league loss to Quitman (Quitman, MS).
