New Mexico High School Volleyball - St. Pius X over Los Alamos

The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM), saw St. Pius X's volleyball squad beat Los Alamos by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, St. Pius X upgrades its record to 21-6 on the year. The Sartans travel to Goddard (Roswell, NM) to play the Rockets in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 12. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 21-4. Goddard won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM)

The Hilltoppers now own a 21-8 record.

Match Summary

LA showed up in the semis against the Sartans with a Championship birth on the line. The Toppers could not overcome 3 injuries and a shake up to their consistent line up and ended up falling in 4 sets. A hip injury to Libero Anna Kirkland, an ankle injury to OH Ashely Hammond and a concussion to all around player Hannah Bergemann put the Toppers in scramble mode. 41 dig errors and 12 blocking errors all mainly in sets 2-4 sealed the deal.
