United Longhorns (Laredo, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX), 73-71 in a non-league match.

With the victory, United advances its record to 1-1 on the year. The Longhorns host Martin (Laredo, TX) to face the Tigers in a non-league match on Friday, November 15. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 0-2. Martin lost 70-44 in their recent non-league match against St. Augustine (Laredo, TX)

The Mustangs now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marshall for a non-league match on Thursday, November 14. Nixon will face a Rams squad coming off a 63-53 non-league win over John F. Kennedy (San Antonio, TX). The Rams record now stands at 1-2.
