Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA), 51-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Athens Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spartans travel to George Walton Academy (Monroe, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 18. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-0. George Walton Academy won 47-26 in their recent non-league bout against Commerce (Commerce, GA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs (Winder, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 17. Jackson County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldoggs go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 47-12 non-league loss to Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA).
