The Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) basketball felled the host Sumter Central Jaguars (York, AL), 40-30 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Tigers (4-0) will now prepare for their test against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 2-0 record. In their last test, Northeast Lauderdale thwarted Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS), 47-33, in a non-league test.
The Jaguars now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Southeast Lauderdale for a non-league test on Friday, December 8.
