PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays (Petersburg, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL), 44-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Bluejays travel to Olympia (Stanford, IL) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 18. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Olympia won 59-33 in their recent non-league bout against Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, November 18. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 33-25 non-league win over Clinton (Clinton, IL).
