Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Chireno Owls (Chireno, TX), 47-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Douglass upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Indians travel to Pollok Central (Pollok, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 18. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Pollok Central won 40-30 in their recent non-league bout against West Hardin (Saratoga, TX)

Next up, the Owls clash with the Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves (Lufkin, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 17. Chireno will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 46-26 non-league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, TX).
