The McFarland Spartans basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the host Edgewood Crusaders to 58 in the Spartans non-league victory on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sauk Prairie for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 21. McFarland will battle a Eagles team coming off a 54-40 league loss to Reedsburg (Reedsburg, WI). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

The Crusaders (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Portage (Portage, WI). The Warriors go into the Badger - West bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, Portage was edged by Baraboo (Baraboo, WI), 64-25, in a league bout.
