Copiah Academy Colonels (Gallman, MS) backers went home pleased Tuesday as they observed their basketball team edge the visiting Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS), 77-71 in a non-league contest.

The Colonels (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Parklane Academy (McComb, MS). The Pioneers come into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS) in a non-league match, on Thursday, November 20. Simpson Academy will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record. The Patriots enter the match with a 0-6 record after their 76-13 non-league loss to St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, MS).
