North Carolina High School Basketball - Purnell Swett can't get by Fairmont

Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC), 62-55 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Fairmont advances its record to 1-1 on the year. The Golden Tornadoes travel to Lumberton (Lumberton, NC) to battle the Pirates in a non-league contest on Friday, November 21. The Pirates come into the contest with a record of 1-0. Lumberton won 61-42 in their recent non-league contest against Fairmont (Fairmont, NC)

In their next game, the Rams battle the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, November 21. Purnell Swett will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Scorpions enter the match with a 2-0 record after their 59-16 non-league win over East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC).

The Fairmont (NC) varsity basketball team won Tuesday's home non-conference game against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC) in overtime by a score of 62-55.
