North Carolina High School Basketball - Hiwassee Dam holds off Towns County

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) and the visiting Towns County Indians (Hiawassee, GA), saw Hiwassee Dam's basketball squad hold off Towns County by a tally of 73-71.

With the victory, Hiwassee Dam improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Eagles host Swain County (Bryson City, NC) to confront the Maroon Devils in a 1A Conference 43 challenge on Friday, December 2. The Maroon Devils come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Indians confront the Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, November 22. Towns County will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 57-54 non-league loss to North Hall (Gainesville, GA).
