Ohio High School Ice Hockey - Avon Lake holds off Strongsville

The Avon Lake Shoremen ice hockey squad scored 4 points and restricted the host Strongsville Mustangs to 3 in the Shoremen league victory on Saturday.
With the victory, Avon Lake moves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Shoremen host Aurora (Aurora, OH) to face the Greenmen in a contest on Sunday, November 20. The Greenmen go into the contest with a record of 0-0.
The Mustangs now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Avon Lake for a contest on Friday, December 2. Strongsville will face a Shoremen squad coming off a 9-1 league win over Aurora (Aurora, OH). The Shoremen record now stands at 2-0.
Game Summary
Konner Nilson broke a 3-3 tie with 55 seconds left in the game to lead the visiting Shoremen to their 1st regular season victory of the year. Strongsville opened up the scoring with 38 seconds left in the 1st period. Luke Swain with an assist from Kevin Graney put the Shoremen on the board in the beginning of the second. Lake followed that up with 2 more goals by a couple of Freshmen. Kollin Nilson with his 1st High School goal-assist by Nathan Leprevost and Konner Nilson put Lake up 2-1 then Nathan Leprevost-assist by Kevin Graney put the Shoremen up 3-1. Mustangs bounced back with 2 in the beginning of the 3rd but the Shoremen battled the rest of the way.
