In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting Weeki Wachee Hornets basketball team scored a good 54-39 win over the Tarpon Springs Spongers.
The Hornets (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Central (Brooksville, FL). The Bears come into the contest with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Central lost by Hudson (Hudson, FL), 48-41, in a non-league match.
The Spongers now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lakewood for a non-league match on Thursday, November 20. Tarpon Springs will face a Spartans squad coming off a 67-62 non-league win over Osceola (Seminole, FL). The Spartans record now stands at 1-0.
