ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars (Oneida, IL) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), 45-41 in a non-league match.

With the victory, ROWVA/Williamsfield advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Cougars travel to Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL) to face the Tornadoes in a non-league match on Friday, November 22. The Tornadoes enter the match with a record of 2-0. Abingdon/Avon won 60-36 in their recent non-league match against Orion (Orion, IL)

The Golden Eagles now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monmouth United for a non-league match on Friday, November 22.
