Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hackberry Mustangs (Hackberry, LA), 46-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Merryville upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Panthers travel to St. Louis Catholic (Lake Charles, LA) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 26. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 3-0. St. Louis Catholic won 50-45 in their recent non-league bout against Benton (Benton, LA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Basile Bearcats (Basile, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 29. Hackberry will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record.
