Mississippi High School Basketball - Forest thwarts Newton

Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS) and the visiting Newton Tigers (Newton, MS), witnessed Forest's basketball squad prevail over Newton by a count of 66-58.

With the victory, Forest advances its record to 1-2 on the year. The Bearcats travel to Leake Central (Carthage, MS) to meet the Gators in a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 2. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 2-3.

In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Heidelberg Oilers (Heidelberg, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, November 29. Newton will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Oilers come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 62-47 non-league win over West Jones (Laurel, MS).
