Tellico Plains Bears (Tellico Plains, TN) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Greenback Cherokees (Greenback, TN), 53-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Tellico Plains upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Bears host Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, November 28. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 1-0. Hiwassee Dam won 60-58 in their recent league bout against Towns County (Hiawassee, GA)

Next up, the Cherokees play the Maryville Christian Eagles (Maryville, TN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, November 28. Greenback will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 75-54 non-league loss to Gibbs (Corryton, TN).
