The Meridian Bobcats basketball squad (Mounds, IL), was outscored 53-36 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Cobden Appleknockers (Cobden, IL)

The Appleknockers (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Century (Ullin, IL). The Centurions come into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Century was knocked off by Pope County (Golconda, IL), 36-16, in a non-league challenge.

Next up, the Bobcats meet the Charleston Bluejays (Charleston, MO) in a non-league battle, on Monday, November 24. Meridian will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Bluejays enter the battle with a 1-0 record after their 60-53 non-league win over Bloomfield (Bloomfield, MO).
