Montpelier Locomotives (Montpelier, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hilltop Cadets (West Unity, OH), 58-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Montpelier upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Locomotives host Hicksville (Hicksville, OH) to clash with the Aces in a non-league bout on Monday, November 28. The Aces go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Hicksville won 50-37 in their recent league bout against Fairview (Sherwood, OH)

Next up, the Cadets clash with the North Central Eagles (Pioneer, OH) in a Buckeye Border bout, on Thursday, December 8. Hilltop will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
