North Carolina High School Basketball - Madison can't hold off Smoky Mountain

November 25, 2025: Marshall, NC 28753

Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 72-68 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Smoky Mountain upgrades its record to 3-1 on the year. The Mustangs host Andrews (Andrews, NC) to face the Wildcats in a non-league match on Monday, December 1. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 2-1. Andrews won 63-50 in their recent non-league contest against Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC)

In their next game, the Patriots confront the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 2. Madison will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 2-1 record after their 90-59 non-league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC).
