In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Goodhue Wildcats basketball team scored a close 71-64 triumph over the Kasson-Mantorville Komets.
The Wildcats (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Lourdes (Rochester, MN). The Eagles enter the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Lourdes tipped Stewartville (Stewartville, MN), 63-52, in a league battle.
The Komets now own a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Austin for a AAA Section 1 battle on Monday, December 2. Kasson-Mantorville will meet a Packers squad coming off a 69-46 non-league win over Mankato East (Mankato, MN). The Packers record now stands at 1-0.
