Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers (Mt. Pulaski, IL) backers went home pleased Wednesday as they observed their basketball team overcome the host Tri-City Tornadoes (Buffalo, IL), 62-42 in a non-league contest.

The Hilltoppers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Clinton (Clinton, IL). The Maroons come into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Clinton defeated Illini Central (Mason City, IL), 61-31, in a non-league match.

The Tornadoes now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cerro Gordo/Bement for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 2. Tri-City will face a Broncos squad coming off a 60-39 non-league loss to Unity Christian (Decatur, IL). The Broncos record now stands at 2-2.
