Morris Redskins (Morris, IL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL), 34-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Morris upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Redskins travel to Coal City (Coal City, IL) to play the Coalers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Coalers come into the bout with a record of 6-0. Coal City won 51-38 in their recent league bout against Peotone (Peotone, IL)

Next up, the Norsemen play the Somonauk/Leland Bobcats (Somonauk, IL) in a Little Ten bout, on Wednesday, December 13. Newark will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record.
