Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Dakota Indians (Dakota, IL), 51-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Eastland upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars host Stockton (Stockton, IL) to play the Blackhawks in a non-league bout on Wednesday, November 30. The Blackhawks go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Stockton won 51-35 in their recent non-league bout against Orangeville (Orangeville, IL)

Next up, the Indians play the Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, November 30. Dakota will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 57-48 non-league win over Pearl City (Pearl City, IL).
