The Patrick County Cougars basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the visiting Dan River Wildcats to 56 in the Cougars non-league victory on Monday.

The Cougars now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Staunton River for a non-league contest on Wednesday, November 30. Patrick County will battle a Golden Eagles team coming off a 51-40 non-league loss to Salem (Salem, VA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

The Wildcats (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Trojans come into the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Tunstall edged Chatham (Chatham, VA), 97-39, in a non-league contest.
