Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA), 48-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Patrick County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Staunton River (Moneta, VA) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, November 30. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Staunton River lost 61-23 in their recent non-league bout against Salem (Salem, VA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. Dan River will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 41-26 non-league loss to Chatham (Chatham, VA).
