McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Star City Bulldogs (Star City, AR), 55-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McGehee upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Owls travel to Crossett (Crossett, AR) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 1-5. Crossett lost 65-42 in their recent non-league bout against Magnolia (Magnolia, AR)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Harmony Grove Hornets (Camden, AR) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Star City will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 64-59 non-league win over Lafayette County (Stamps, AR).
