The Tonkawa Buccaneers basketball team scored 68 points and held the host Newkirk Tigers to 44 in the Buccaneers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Perry for a non-league contest on Friday, December 1. Tonkawa will meet a Maroons team coming off a 60-39 non-league loss to Blackwell (Blackwell, OK). The Maroons record now stands at 0-1.
The Tigers (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Alva (Alva, OK). The Goldbugs enter the 89er - West contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Alva was routed by Chisholm (Enid, OK), 64-61, in a league contest.
