The Giles Spartans basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Craig County Rockets to 27 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eastern Montgomery for a non-league contest on Friday, December 1. Giles will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 53-21 non-league loss to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-2.

The Rockets (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA). The Bison enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Buffalo Gap was routed by Nelson County (Lovingston, VA), 36-29, in a non-league contest.
