In Friday's non-league bout, the Highland Prep West HORNETS (Avondale, AZ) basketball team edged the host Vista Grande Spartans (Casa Grande, AZ), by a tally of 31-29.
The HORNETS now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy for a non-league bout on Saturday, November 29. Highland Prep West will play a Lions team coming off a 74-61 non-league win over Parker (Parker, AZ). The Lions record now stands at 2-0.
The Spartans (0-3) will now prepare for their test against Walden Grove (Sahuarita, AZ). The Red Wolves come into the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Walden Grove held off Pueblo (Tucson, AZ), 72-46, in a non-league test.
