The Quitman Panthers basketball team scored 43 points and held the host Heidelberg Oilers to 39 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Panthers now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northeast Lauderdale for a non-league contest on Saturday, November 5. Quitman will battle a Trojans team coming off a 66-46 non-league loss to Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Trojans record now stands at 1-1.
The Oilers (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Quitman (Quitman, MS). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Quitman was nudged by Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS), 64-62, in a non-league contest.
