West Side Eagles (Greers Ferry, AR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Shirley Blue Devils (Shirley, AR), 59-58 in a league bout.

With the win, West Side upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Calico Rock (Calico Rock, AR) to play the Pirates in a 1A Region 2 bout on Thursday, December 1. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Calico Rock won 60-56 in their recent league bout against Izard County (Brockwell, AR)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Concord Pirates (Concord, AR) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Saturday, December 3. Shirley will attempt to upgrade on its 10-2 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 9-1 record after their 69-39 league win over Rural Special (Fox, AR).
