The Slocomb Red Tops (Slocomb, AL) basketball nipped the visiting Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL), 48-47 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Red Tops (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Geneva County (Hartford, AL). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Geneva County was tipped by Paxton (Paxton, FL), 65-37, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Northside Methodist Academy for a non-league test on Monday, December 4. Wicksburg will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 72-67 non-league loss to Pike Liberal Arts (Troy, AL). The Knights record now stands at 7-1.
