In Thursday's non-league outing, the St. John Eagles (Plaquemine, LA) basketball squad edged the visiting Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA), by a count of 38-36.
The Eagles (2-4) will now prepare for their outing against Ascension Christian (Gonzales, LA). The go into the non-league outing with a 1-1 record. In their last outing, Ascension Christian held off False River (New Roads, LA), 53-10, in a non-league outing.
The Mustangs now hold a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Dutchtown for a non-league outing on Monday, December 4. Assumption will clash with a Griffins squad coming off a 56-22 non-league win over Dunham (Baton Rouge, LA). The Griffins record now stands at 4-2.
