The James River Knights basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Bassett Bengals to 55 in the Knights non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Knights now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Martinsville for a non-league contest on Friday, December 1.

The Bengals (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Patrick County (Stuart, VA). The Cougars enter the Piedmont contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Patrick County nudged Staunton River (Moneta, VA), 46-44, in a non-league contest.
