The Hickory Red Tornadoes routed the host Newton-Conover Red Devils basketball team by a final score of 57-29 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Red Tornadoes face the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, December 5. Hickory will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 2-1 record after their 70-41 non-league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC).

With the defeat, Newton-Conover moves to 0-3 on the year. The Red devils host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to face the Huskies in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 5. The Huskies enter the game with a record of 2-3. Ashe County lost 50-37 in their recent non-league game against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC)
