Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX), 41-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Saltillo upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Lions host North Hopkins (Sulphur Springs, TX) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, November 11. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 1-0. North Hopkins won 46-16 in their recent non-league bout against Yantis (Yantis, TX)

Next up, the Longhorns play the Bloomburg Wildcats (Bloomburg, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 11. McLeod will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 51-34 non-league win over Queen City (Queen City, TX).
