Calico Rock Pirates (Calico Rock, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Side Eagles (Greers Ferry, AR), 67-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Calico Rock upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Pirates travel to Shirley (Shirley, AR) to play the Blue Devils in a 1A Region 2 bout on Wednesday, December 14. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 11-2.

Next up, the Eagles play the Rural Special Rebels (Fox, AR) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Saturday, December 3. West Side will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 1-9 record after their 69-39 league loss to Concord (Concord, AR).
