Clairemont Chieftains (San Diego, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA), 48-36 in a non-league test.

The Chieftains (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Sweetwater (National City, CA). The Red Devils go into the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Sweetwater went down by Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA), 56-24, in a non-league test.

The Vaqueros now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Christian for a non-league test on Friday, December 9.
