Virginia High School Basketball - Southwest Virginia Academy tops New Covenant

Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors (Roanoke, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), 55-40 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Southwest Virginia Academy upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Conquerors host Carlisle (Axton, VA) to play the Chiefs in a non-league bout on Monday, December 5. The Chiefs come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Carlisle won 41-37 in their recent non-league bout against George Washington (Danville, VA)
Next up, the Gryphons play the Covenant Eagles (Charlottesville, VA) in a VISAA Blue Ridge bout, on Friday, December 2. New Covenant will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 51-20 non-league win over Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA).
