The St. Mary's Hawks basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Akron-Westfield Westerners to 39 in the Hawks league victory on Friday.

The Hawks now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South O'Brien for a War Eagle contest on Tuesday, December 5. St. Mary's will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 58-35 league win over Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-0.

The Westerners (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars, IA). The Jays come into the War Eagle contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Gehlen Catholic dropped by Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union (Marcus, IA), 48-43, in a league contest.
