The Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) basketball knocked off the visiting Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA), 59-46 in Friday's non-league test.
The Spartans (5-1) will now prepare for their test against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 1-4 record. In their last test, Oconee County notched a victory over Loganville (Loganville, GA), 63-59, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Flowery Branch for a non-league test on Monday, December 4. Jackson County will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 70-57 non-league loss to Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA). The Falcons record now stands at 1-5.
