Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes (Zeigler, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Elverado Falcons (Elkville, IL), 73-67 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Zeigler-Royalton upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Goreville (Goreville, IL) to play the Blackcats in a Black Diamond - West bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Blackcats come into the bout with a record of 5-1. Goreville lost 58-51 in their recent non-league bout against Benton (Benton, IL)

Next up, the Falcons play the Century Centurions (Ullin, IL) in a South Egyptian bout, on Thursday, December 7. Elverado will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Centurions come into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 69-23 non-league loss to Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL).
